Here is the scenario if I have a site targeting Australian customers that is hosted in the USA, what are the geo location implications for SEO purposes?

Is it sufficient to set the geographic targeting in Google Webmaster Tools to Australia, to overcome Google geolocating based on IP?

If the site has a TLD name specific to that country, I.E. .com.au using the Australian example, will this automatically geo locate to provide Australian SERPs?

Previously I had always advised customers to host their sites in the country that they were geographically targeting. Is this no longer the case?

Its a really critical factor and it would be great to arrive at a definitive answer (well as close as SEO gets!)

Hey,

I have a website that is ranking position number 3 for a low competition keyword...The strange thing is that the website appears to be ranking purely off the description tag as this is the only place that I have the keyword...I don't have it anywhere on the page of the website, not in the title tag etc nor have I built a single backlink with the keyword as anchor text...

So it would appear that the description tag has some influence on rankings

One of the things I learned in SEO is to redirect the non-www version to the www version in htaccess or other way around. This prevents you from people linking to two seperate domains. I was curious why this forum doesn't have this.. Any special reason behind it?

Also I see some ppl on the warrior forum linking to their own site with two different anchor text to the the same domain but anchor1 links to non-www and anchor2 links to www version, do they do this trick to get around the "only first link count"?

I own a ecommerce business selling physical products. The web business was started in 2003 and does fairly well. I have only recently begun attempts to improve organic rankings. One thing I want to do is add a blog. I also want to add some content to my site that will provide helpful information related to my niche.

Here are my questions:

1) Should the blog be a part of my site? Or should it be a totally different domain?
2) Should I post the helpful content articles on both my blog -and- my ecommerce site? If not, where? Should I also post the content on the various article sites?
3) Can you point me to a best practices guide on the integration of a blog and merchant site that also discusses where to put article content?

Thanks in advance.

I was doing keyword research with MS when i came across a possible candidate that happens to be a typo. now the competition alone would make me pass but the top 10 according to MS's seo competition are optimized for the correctly spelled term, I took a shot of it:

now they have a decent amount of backlinks and some have a decent pr and I'd skip this in a second since I'm gonna make a niche site, but since all of these sites are aren't optimized for the typo does it matter as much as it normally would? could I rank for this with a normal little affiliate wordpress site? Thanks for any input in advance.

I have a client who is setting up his sites on a WPMU network.

This network is not his and he has the ability to use his own domain names within the MU site. So, his domain name will show up although the back office is part of a MU network.

Question:

If we set this up for multiple domain names on the MU Network will they all show up on the same server or will they be separate based upon the where the domain is being hosted?

Additional question:

Can you help me with the difference between 'subnet' and 'c-class' servers related to SEO? His hosting company asked this question and I am a little confused as I have always used SEOhosting.com and haven't had this problem.

This all ties together with the WPMU site, SEO for the domain related to the MU site and the SEO server issues surrounding it all.

Thanks for the help.

Hiya all.

Hope someone great with copy can help me here.

I've been ranking now on position 1, 2, 3 4 and 5 for VERY competitive Teeth whitening keywords, but not getting a single conversion!

What I did (way back when) was create standalone blogs, blogger sites and social media sites, as well as Youtube for 5 respective and competitive teeth whitening keywords, and now all those teeth whitening sites are really above the fold... but still no $$ coming through!

Obviously this is VERY frustrating... not sure if it's the copy that needs to be tweaked or whatever, but whatever it is, it could mean the difference between continuing on and throwing in the towel.

I'm also almost there (above the fold) for a competitive weightloss keyword... I know, I should be celebrating, but the clowns ain't come yet with their balloons.

Easy way out would be to simply pay someone to redo the copy for me but, if there's any input you can offer, I would be very appreciative.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hey there guys, I have a domain that has about 3.5 years on it and I decided I may want to get it in the game, see if it could bring me any profit. (It's for a very profitably niche.) So I was thinking I would build it a really user friendly and professional looking template, then build links at a higher rate than I would ever build for my newer sites. (Probablyy 100 or so a day.) Then I would use a backlink indexing program to try to get at least 75% of them indexed.

Eh, aside from my plan. Do you guys think that a domain with said age could/would get sandboxed? I have read many different theories on the subject that say that you only have to worry about sandbox up to nine months or a year, but no one really knows for sure, because we're not Google! But what do you think?

This seemed to be the best fit for this oddball question

I'm contacting various business owners to offer SEO services and most do not have an email listed but rather a contact form.

Some of these forms will cc me a copy of my message and I have noticed that if I send a message in the contact form that looks like this

Example message here to biz owner.

Offerring xyz for $xyz

Blah blah blah

blah blah blah

thanks, blah blah

It looks nice and professional, spaced, separate lines etc.

But when I get the copy, and what they are seeing as well, is a jumbled up spaceless unprofessional message like this.

Offerring xyz for $xyzBlah blah blahblah blah blahthanks, blah blah

Is there some code or something I can use to format this and keep the nice looking spaced lined format when using contact forms like this?

Thanks

Well, I have come to find that this system is flawed. It has a bunch of "aged" domains, but either they are owned or unregistered. (Meaning 0 years of age.)So blah, f*** that part of Market Samurai.
Do you guys know of any good marketplace to find aged domains in correlation to your own niche?
